Hello there,

I’m Simon, and I’ve been involved in the drainage industry for over 19 years. In 2004, I took the exciting step of starting my own Dyno-Rod franchise, where I had the privilege of leading a team of 7 dedicated individuals. As part of my role, I worked hands-on as a drainage engineer, performing unblocks and drain repairs while simultaneously managing the operations of the business.

As my career progressed, I took on greater responsibilities, including managing a Dyno-Rod business across Devon & Cornwall, where I oversaw a team of 25 skilled professionals. Additionally, I managed a tanker division for a large waste management company, effectively supervising 6 jet vacs, 2 gully suckers, and a CCTV crew. This role allowed me to handle wet well cleaning contracts and highway contracts, including HADDAMS surveys, across the South-West of England.

Throughout my extensive journey in the industry, I have had the pleasure of mentoring and training numerous engineers in all aspects of drainage work. From unblocks and repairs to drainage law, CCTV, customer service, and upselling, I’ve equipped professionals with the knowledge they need to excel in their roles.

Before immersing myself in the drainage industry, I gained valuable sales experience in diverse fields, ranging from exhibitions to pharmaceuticals. This experience provided me with opportunities to present to major clients such as Pfizer, Glaxo Smithkline, and Curver Plastics. Consequently, presenting to large groups is now second nature to me.

My training style is characterised by a good-natured and composed approach, ensuring that learners not only gain knowledge but also enjoy the learning experience. The combination of professionalism and a friendly demeanor makes the training sessions productive and engaging for all participants.

To further enhance my training expertise, I completed and passed the PTTLS course and obtained the IOSH managing safety certification.
